Talking Love, a poem from Asher Jael

In writing this verse I was inspired by this religious poem by the Japanese monk Ikkyu,

And what is it, the heart?
It is the sound of the pine breeze in the ink painting.

This poem I found in the Nobel Lecture of Yasunari Kawabata.

I ended the poem by returning to my reoccurring theme of migratory birds, which is a symbol of my cultural ambiguity and sense of belonging, between Europe my home & Africa, a place I feel free.
