of magnolia

an empty bedsit –
I lay on a mattress
vacant for years
before my entrance

daylights leaves
I twist in sheets of night
consumed by thought

remorse forever bound
in magnolia walls

*

an empty bedsit –
I lay on a mattress
a room filled
with sorrow, regret

not much else

how can I walk
buckled by remorse?

even in magnolia
my mind will dance with yours
